Country Hamburger Skill

**I like to add other vegetables to this such as broccoli or cauliflower.

  1. 1 lb. ground beef

  2. 1/2 onion (a large, sliced thinly)

  3. Yukon Gold potato (medium, 's, sliced thinly)

  4. 1 tsp. minced garlic (or fresh garlic)

  5. garlic salt

  6. coarse ground black pepper

  7. 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese (grated mixed)

  8. chives (Garnish with fresh chopped, optional) (or green onions)

    Instructions

    1. In a large skillet, with a lid, over medium low heat, brown 1 pound of ground beef with 1 tsp. minced garlic. DO NOT DRAIN.

    2. Add sliced potatoes and onions.

    3. Sprinkle with Garlic Salt and Black Pepper to taste.

    4. Stir and Cover with lid, keep heat at medium low.

    5. Allow to cook for 15 minutes. Remove lid, stir bringing ingredients from bottom of the skillet to the top.

    6. Replace lid. Cook for another 15 minutes. Check and repeat once more if necessary.

    7. When the potatoes are "fork tender", turn off heat. Cover meat and potatoes with grated cheese. Replace the lid for an additional 5 minutes. Until cheese is melted.

    8. Garnish with fresh chopped chives.

    9. Serve immediately.
